Horseback Riding

Private and small group rides are offered through the Lodge’s on-site horse barn. Rides are 45 or 90 minutes long and consist of a guided flat walk through the property’s 300 acres. Offered daily at 10am and 6pm; custom rides and ride times are available. Offered to riders of all abilities14 & older; closed-toe footwear required; helmets are provided and required for all rides.

Horse connections experience

Suitable for guests who wish to experience our horses in a manner that does not include riding. Dive into the world of equine companionship as you learn about the behavior and traits of our resident herd. Spend time grooming and grazing alongside our horses with our guide and learn about these amazing animals and their ability to connect with us.  Closed-toe footwear required; all ages.

Fish with the Chef

Join Chef Jason Wilson to fish his favorite spots in the Valley. Lunch is included. License required; catch & release only; bring your own rod or use one of ours. Ages 14 & up. Maximum 2 guests.

Casting and Fishing at Casia Lodge & Ranch

Join us to learn how to fly cast (or improve your skills) and fish for trout in our private pond. License required; catch & release only; bring your own rod or use one of ours. Ages 14 & up.

Steve Bondi

Steve Bondi (www.methowexplorations.com) has been connecting people to the unique nature of the Methow Valley for the past 20 years. He was a field biologist for the US Forest Service Methow Valley Ranger District, a director of the Land Stewardship program of the Methow Conservancy, and owner and operator of the North Cascades Basecamp in Mazama. He’s a natural history tour guide, skilled interpreter and educator with special expertise in natural history: birds, wildflowers, native plants, geology, glaciology and human history.

Beaver Creek Exploration:

Follow the lush meanders of Beaver Creek as it winds through the Casia Lodge & Ranch property. Stand beneath the cottonwoods, listen to the aspens in the breeze. We will watch and listen for songbirds and eagles, track and observe mule deer and coyotes, and perhaps see salmon in the creek.

Owl Prowl:

Great-horned, pygmy, saw-whet, and barred owls all call Casia Lodge & Ranch property landscape their home. Join us as we search for these elusive owls along Beaver Creek and around the lodge’s landscaped grounds. This tour is offered at 8am – 10am or 7pm – 9pm

Wildflowers & Wildlife Walkabout:

Seasonal wildflowers and wildlife abound on our property in the spring. Let’s explore the sunflower uplands, lush green meadows, and flower gardens while observing mule deer, marmots, coyotes, songbirds and pollinators. We may even visit the home of a local cougar family!

Private and group cooking classes with James Beard Award-winning Chef Jason Wilson (Year-round)

Interactive, hands-on cooking demonstrations followed by dinner with wine pairings in the dining room at Casia Lodge & Ranch. Learn knife skills, new recipes and cooking techniques while working with Methow Valley ingredients to expand your culinary repertoire.
